Senior Director, Enterprise Workforce Planning and Analytics, TIAA

Jocelyn has over 20 years of experience establishing lean and six sigma data-driven, change management programs within culturally diverse environments in both the public and private sector. Throughout her career, she passionately inspires and leads individuals and organizations on their journeys to reach their full potential. She is a visionary leader that applies the rigor and technical expertise of business re-engineering process improvement techniques with cutting-edge learning & leadership theory and practice. Throughout her career, she has built an impressive record of utilizing data and analytics to streamline operations and implement organizational solutions. She has extensive industry experience supporting customer facing and operations initiatives; specifically in financial services, higher education, and manufacturing. She is a certified Six Sigma Black Belt and Project Manager.  Jocelyn holds a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from Clemson University, a Masters of Public Administration from the University of South Carolina, and is currently completing her Doctor of Education with a focus in Human and Organizational Learning from George Washington University.

Currently, she is the Sr. Director of Workforce Planning and Analytics at TIAA.  In her current role, she leverages her years of experience applying lean and six sigma to implement a vision of an action oriented workforce planning and analytics team.  The team focuses on using data and analytics to drive better decision making and improve business outcomes. In her tenure in this role, the workforce analytics and planning team has made great strides in moving toward this vision by progressing the organization from having disconnected sources of data, to more integrated data reporting, scorecards and dashboards that leaders can use to manage their business.  Beyond the establishment of one consolidated source of data, and the automation of standard reports and dashboards, the team also added value to the organization through the implementation of strategic workforce planning technology, standards and process that allowed TIAA to increase workforce plan and forecast accuracy and enabled the business to make data driven decisions with regards to future human capital planning.

Prior to leading the Workforce Planning and Analytics team, Jocelyn was responsible for identifying and leading transformation initiatives to increase efficiency and effectiveness, while reducing cost and risk across TIAA. In this role she leveraged her previous expertise in strategic planning and program management to deliver cost-effective, change management strategies that solve challenging organizational problems.  In the role before joining TIAA, Jocelyn built the university-wide institutional effectiveness capability at Howard University that focused on re-engineering administrative processes through the application of lean and six sigma.

Jocelyn also held a series of positions of increasing responsibility and complexity during her tenure at The South Carolina Retirement Systems, Westinghouse Nuclear Fuel and General Electric. She led numerous business unit and enterprise initiatives to improve business performance while instilling a culture of continuous improvement. Earlier in her career, she led various manufacturing operations including global supply chain and production planning functions.

She previously served on the Clemson University Black Alumni Council Board, is currently a member of the Clemson University Board of Visitors, Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority and Jack and Jill of Columbia.  Jocelyn and her husband Darryl have two sons and currently reside in Columbia, South Carolina.
